Kevin Royalty will be joining us to do a presentation on Microsoft's Windows Home Server. We understand he'll be bringing in a couple of computers, network them together, and configure the MS Home Server software. This looks like it will be a very interesting topic, and of much interest to our membership.
Windows Home Server provides automatic daily backup for your home PCs, so your files and PCs can be easily restored. Plus, PC health monitoring lets you see the exact condition of Windows Vista.enabled PCs in your home.
Every member of the family can access what they need on the home server from your networked PCs. You can even share information with faraway friends and family, or access your own data when you're away from home.*
Your family photos, videos, music, and other important documents stay together in one central place. Folders by subject or topic keep the whole family organized and up-to-date.
As your storage needs increase, you can simply connect a new hard drive to Windows Home Server. And with developers working on innovative add-ins for home automation, home web cameras, and security feature solutions, Windows Home Server will be part of the family todayand tomorrow.
Windows Home Server is simple to set up, easy to use, and provides a reliable, familiar way for families to stay connected, whether they're in the next room or across the country.
* You may need to add services from your broadband provider to use Windows Home Server's remote access features. For example, you will need certain "ports" to be open to use these features. Some broadband providers block certain ports for customers on some service plans. Also, some broadband providers' terms of service may limit or prohibit setting up and running of "servers" on their networks by some customers on some service plans. Make sure that your use of Windows Home Server features follows your broadband providers' terms of service. Please contact your broadband provider if you have questions about their terms of service.
For more details, see the Windows Home Server web site.

DMA Trustees have been struggling to provide adequate facilities for our monthly General Membership meetings. Both UD and WSU presented challenges. We have been searching for a location that is comfortable for our members, room enough for all attendees, offers free parking, equipped with audio, visual, and internet, and still affordable for the organization. HHAF Hall meets all qualifications. Apple-Dayton meets here regularly.
April was our trial month and it went well. We have reserved the Warrior Room for the coming year.
All are welcome. The meetings start at 7:00 p.m. Guests are always
welcome.
