HINTS, TIPS, AND NOTES FOR SEARCHING:

For comments concerning this page, please contact Stan Rohrer.

Size of the archive is limited.  Older entries have been deleted.  There is likely at least 2 years worth of entries in the archive.

Recent archive entries are viewed by doing a search for "subject" (which shows in every message header).

To view threads, copy the significant Subject line entry and do a new search (e.g. for "Subject: Re: EPD for child", select "EPD for child").  In most Windows browsers, drag the mouse across the words, do menu Edit/Copy, then return to the search menu, click on the search field, and do menu Edit/Paste (or of course, you can type the words into the search box).

Partial word searches match the search sequence provided ("to" matches "to", "doctor", "into", "touch", "fructose").  A Partial Word search does not force a look for space or other word defining properties ("erg" matches "allergy", "allergies" , "allergic", "energy", "overgrowth").

Full word searches match an identical word ("to" matches "to").  Use this if the partial word search turns up many hits not related to your search word.  Note Partial word search "allerg" similarity to Full Word search "allerg*")

? matches any single character ("r?d" matches "red", "rod", "rad", "rid").

* matches zero or more of any characters of the current word ("win*s" matches "wins", "winnings", "winners", "windows").

Multiple word strings may be specified ("food allergy" matches "food allergy", "food. Allergy"). However, note that this search engine may NOT find the phrase if it is split between two or more lines in the message (single word searches are better).

Combining the syntax is allowed ("f??d allerg*" matches "food allergy", "food. Allergies").  Again note that the search may fail to detect when the phrase is split across two or more lines.

Sorry, no AND or OR or NEAR functions are available for word groupings.
